Soapmaking

Phoebe makes liquid soap.  She uses funds from the group to purchase ingredients.  After making the soap, she sells it to her neighbors.  The group serves her as a sort of miniature bank.  Savings and credit groups are an excellent way to bring financial services to rural areas.
